Programme Assistant / Technical Assistant Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field like Agriculture, Computer Science, or B.Sc./M.Sc. depending on the specific post. Some posts require experience.
Stenographer Gr III Qualification: 12th class pass. Requires passing a dictation test at 80 w.p.m. in English or Hindi.

Selection Process

The selection methodology is different for scientific and non-teaching positions.

  1. For Scientific/Technical Posts (Group A): The university will shortlist candidates based on their academic qualifications, research score, experience, and other criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview. A written test may also be conducted for further shortlisting if the number of applicants is large.
  2. For Non-Teaching Posts (Group B & C): The selection for posts like Assistant, Stenographer, Driver, etc., will be based on a two-stage process. First, a Written Test will be conducted. Candidates shortlisted from the written test will then be called for a Skill Test (e.g., Typing Test, Steno Test, Driving Test), which will be qualifying or scoring as per the rules for that post.

Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern and syllabus for the written tests (for non-teaching posts) are not specified in the advertisement. Candidates are advised to check the official BHU website (`www.bhu.ac.in/rac`) for updates.

For skill tests, the standards are defined:

  • Stenographer Gr III: A dictation test in English or Hindi at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes. Transcription time on computer will be 50 minutes for English and 65 minutes for Hindi.

The written tests for other non-teaching posts will likely cover General Knowledge, Reasoning, Language (English/Hindi), and subject-specific knowledge relevant to the post.

PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

There is no Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) applicable for any of the posts in this recruitment drive.

How to Prepare

A post-specific preparation strategy is required.

  • For Scientific Posts: Focus on your research publications, Ph.D. thesis, and core area of expertise. Prepare a presentation on your work and be ready for an in-depth technical interview.
  • For Non-Teaching Posts: Prepare for a standard competitive written exam covering general aptitude, reasoning, English/Hindi, and GK. For technical posts, revise your diploma/degree syllabus.
  • For Skill-Based Posts: Daily practice is key. For Stenographer, practice dictation and transcription. For Driver, ensure you are proficient with heavy vehicle driving.

Best Books for Preparation

Preparation material should be chosen based on the post applied for.

  • Scientific Posts: Standard postgraduate textbooks, research journals, and publications in your specific field of agriculture.
  • Non-Teaching (General Subjects): "Lucent's General Knowledge" for GK, "Quantitative Aptitude" by R.S. Aggarwal, and standard books for English/Hindi grammar.
  • Non-Teaching (Technical Subjects): Your own academic textbooks from your Degree/Diploma are the best resource.
