Selection Process
The mode of selection will be as specified for each post in Part-II of the advertisement. The Council reserves the right to conduct a written test for any or all posts. The general process is as follows:
- Written Test (CBT): For most posts, a Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted to adjudge the basic and domain-specific knowledge of the candidates.
- Skill / Proficiency / Trade Test: For posts requiring specific skills (e.g., LDC, Stenographer, Technician, Cameraman), a qualifying skill test will be conducted. This may include typing tests, trade tests, or practical demonstrations.
- Interview: For Group 'A' posts and some Group 'B' posts, candidates who qualify in the written/skill test will be called for a personal interview.
- Document Verification: All shortlisted candidates will have to undergo verification of their original testimonials and certificates.
The provisional merit list will be drawn based on the marks scored in the CBT/Written Test. The final selection will be based on the combined performance as per the scheme for each post.
Exam Pattern
While the specific exam pattern for each of the 47 posts will vary, a general structure for such recruitment typically involves objective-type questions (MCQs). The syllabus is generally divided into two parts:
- Part 1: General Paper - This section usually covers subjects like General English, General Hindi, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and Computer Literacy.
- Part 2: Domain-Specific Paper - This is the most crucial section and will contain questions from the educational qualification required for the post. For example, for a Production Officer, questions will be from Printing Technology. For a Senior Accountant, questions will be from Commerce and Accountancy.
Candidates must refer to the NCERT website for the detailed syllabus for each specific post, which will be uploaded in due course.
PET
There is no Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) required for any of these non-academic posts.
How to Prepare
A focused and post-specific preparation strategy is required to succeed in the NCERT recruitment exam.
- Analyze the Syllabus: Once NCERT releases the detailed syllabus for your post, analyze it thoroughly to understand the weightage of different topics.
- Strengthen Your Domain Knowledge: The majority of questions will be from your specific field (e.g., Engineering, Media Production, Accountancy, Library Science). Revise your graduation/post-graduation level subjects in depth.
- Prepare for General Papers: Do not neglect the general sections. Regularly practice reasoning and aptitude, stay updated with current affairs, and brush up on your English/Hindi grammar.
- Practice for Skill Tests: If your post requires a skill test (typing, stenography, trade test), start practicing immediately. Aim for speed and accuracy.
- Solve Mock Tests: Attempt mock tests and previous years' papers of similar organizations (like KVS, NVS, or other autonomous bodies) to get an idea of the exam pattern and to manage your time effectively.
